Stories
Jesus taught in parables. Who can forget the good Samaritan or the prodigal son? Long after the sermon is forgotten the story sticks. The following stories grow out of my own family’s story. The stories are mostly true. I say ‘mostly true’ because piecing together a family’s history is no easy task. My (much older) sister and I are in a race to see who lives the longest; and thus has the privilege of writing the family history. One’s perspective impacts the way a story is remembered and told. For instance, it is impossible for me to tell a family story without wrapping it in theology.
Enjoy. Sure, my family is dysfunctional like most every family.
